- After the Valentines season that has just ended some few days back, many of the youths have been heart broken, others have engaged in fights due to love affairs. Many victims of these acts are the youths especially in universities.
- Majority of the youths in universities lack self-esteem and self-control. They have hurry in life .They are in need to serve two masters at the same time. This is why they find themselves in difficult situations most of the time. Most of them are in school because their parents want them to be in school. They don’t value academics instead they want soft life of bread and butter.
Recently cases of University students fighting over love affairs have been rampant. Most students have diverted their attention from learning to love affairs. They concentrate more on love life than their academics.
This has affected their academic performance. They cause a lot of distractions to their colleagues in their places of residence like hostels. They also destroy school properties while fighting over useless issues. Some of them end up being suspended from school.
In return parents who struggle to keep their sons or daughters in school are the biggest lossers. They work tirelessly to ensure that their children are able to get basic needs that they require in school but in return their efforts go for granted.
Some of the University students engaging in evil activities are coming from humble backgrounds where they are expected to lift up the well-being of their family members and the entire society but they don’t do this instead they end up bringing more losses to school and their parents.
Cases of young people dying as a result of committing suicide have also increased. They feel depressed because of various reasons such as relationships breakups, lack of adequate funds to help their learning activities in school to move smoothly.

It’s high time that these young people need to change their ways of life because they are not aware of what the future holds. Currently we are in a situation where political activities like campaigns are moving on despite the fact that official campaigns have not been officially launched.
These youths are not willing to participate in various political affairs. They are not interested in participating in voters’ registration processes, yet they are the ones who should be on the forefront in political matters of the country. They are the future leaders of the society, it’s upon them to make sure that they elect leaders who will protect their rights and address the problems they face like unemployment.
Young people should wake up and focus on things that can help them in the future. Academics are very important, they need to focus on academics first then love issues will come after they have succeeded in life through academics.
Organizations should be formed to educate the youths on how to overcome peer pressure and ways of managing stress and how to cope up with stress during difficult situations. They should also be educated on dangers of committing suicide.
They should learn to air out their problems to others instead of making bad decisions which cause harm to their lives because a problem shared is half solved.
We are in a global village scenario; youths should be civilized and solve their problems in a civilised way instead of fighting. Fighting cannot help to solve anything instead it is detrimental to people’s health.
