“In whom [Christ Jesus] we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Him. (EPHESIANS 3:12)”. Now in this verse of Scripture, Paul tells us that this “boldness and access with confidence” comes only “by the faith of Him.” Notice that little phrase, “of Him.” We spend so much time being concerned about our having faith in Jesus Christ that we often fail to move into the deeper revelation of what it means to have the faith of Jesus Christ. This is the faith with which we worship God from the innermost core of our being.
“Now let me ask this. Who lives in you? Who will live in you forever? Is it not this same Christ Jesus? I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me (GALATIANS 2:20).”
Our boldness doesn’t lie in our own faith, which can quickly melt into fear. Our confidence to move into deeper spiritual waters and take on spiritual adversaries DOES NOT rest in our own faith, but the faith of Jesus who lives and abides within us. We must continuously and diligently tap into and pull upon His bold, active, dynamic faith, a faith that never shrinks back or cowers in the face of evil. There is such a thing as holy boldness that is beyond our own courage, and that holy boldness is rooted in the faith of Jesus Christ, who dwells in us and in Whom we live and move and have our being.
