Former President Mwai Kibaki has often been touted as one of the greatest leaders in Kenya. He liked keeping a low profile personality despite him being a highly intelligent leader and competent technocrat.
His legacy has remained untainted over the years. Kenya experienced a rapid economic growth during his 10-year tenure. Mr Kibaki prioritised the economy as his core focus, having inherited myriad challenges from his predecessor.
Among many of his great achievements to be echoed is introduction of free primary education initiative, which brought over 1 million children who would not have been able to afford school the chance to attend.
We will live to remember his good works. Good night our beloved former president Mwai Kibaki.
