1.. how did it all start and why music ,
I am Nigerian artist Lyno Casino my clearest memory; my friend had a studio years back, so one day I went visiting & as you know how it is in studios, everyone just started playing around & vibing to the beats and before you know it I made a song which was fire, at the time. But you know, I’ve improved a lot from where I started, but yes, that’s basically where it started.
I discovered I got a gift & followed the path.
2… I mean, have you always wanted to be an artist and why?
It’s been years ago, but that day I knew I had something that can take me places, if I put in the work, and as I invested my time & everything into it, the love & passion became stronger with each passing day.
- How do people react when you tell them that you re an artist?
A huge percent of the time, they’re not even surprised. They say I’ve got the looks, style & all, but they just wonder what my sound is like.
4… Give a brief summary about your journey so far
It’s been a long & rough ride. I’ve met a whole lot of people and only a few are genuine.
Most of the time it’s just people trying to use you for their own needs and that’s a whole other topic.
Different experiences which made me grow stronger & wiser, both in my art and character
- Where do your ideas to run a successful as best upcoming artist in Nigeria come from?
Myself basically. I look up to some people both locally & internationally, but the idea of becoming an influential person and a successful person in my own field is just something that has stuck with me from a very young age.
Anything I do, I always want to be the best in it, and I’m always working & making the right moves to get there
- How is it like in Nigeria when it comes to entertainment in general? Are they people supportive of your music
It’s funny actually. In my experience, strangers are way more supportive than close friends,
In the sense that Strangers contribute something, maybe pushing my songs one way or another, with passion, but friends just make nice comments and don’t actively promote in their own way. But as it is with everything, there are exceptions.
I get to meet new people a lot more often they have different plans and desires for me and my music , I get support in different forms.
- How do you prepare your routine etc?
I don’t have a routine 😂
I like to be random
- Is music the only life activation you have? And is it your full time job or do you have some other businesses apart from being an artist? if yes, how do divide your time to master both?
Yes I have other goals and dreams I’m set out to achieve, but music tops the list because it’s the light that is gonna shine on every other idea I have, pushing them forward and giving them a wider reach.
- Do you also act or you only focusing on music? And if you do both, what are the challenge that comes with it? Which one is more powerful and easy to master/handle?
As an artist, you’re also an actor, maybe partially.
I’m talking about music videos, and as the Nigerian entertainment industry currently moves, you get to see artistes in movies & comedy skits. All that also falls under the “acting” category.
I don’t find acting difficult at all, I’m good at acting , but maybe I just haven’t invested enough time into perfecting the art, so I’m not like, way up there.
But I think I got the skill.
It’s just not something I’m actively doing.
- How do you train yourself to become a good artist as yourself?
It’s just constant work and exploring, finding your strengths & weaknesses, knowing what you can & can’t do, knowing what best suits you & also listening carefully to criticisms, because there’s always an atom of truth.
