Worth Noting:
- “The president has not completed any of the projects left incomplete by retired president Uhuru Kenyatta neither has he commenced any new ones neither has there been any further mentions of mama mbogas or vijana wa bodaboda,” lamented Gachagua.
- The former Mathira legislator replied to accusations by his former boss to the effect that he had no grasp of government programmes clarifying that most of the so called programmes were conduits for misappropriation of citizens taxes including the contentious SHIF health insurance, the affordable housing even as the government overtakes it’s citizens.
- In answer to his statement after he was sworn in that the national coffers were then empty, he said that thereafter funds were available but misappropriated and misdirected.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused his former boss, William Ruto of heading the nation towards tribal clashes akin to the 2007 scenario.
Addressing the Mt Kenya region community through three vernacular TV stations and six Radio stations, the former second in command claimed that the Head of State is antagonising the other communities against the Agikuyu, Aembu and Ameru tribes thereby renigging on the seats calling of being a symbol of national unity.
Gachagua noted that the residents of the region and indeed the entire nation had right to feel betrayed as the president had not actualised any of his campaign pledges.

Why did we need to overhaul the NHIF that was working at an astronomical cost of KSh104billion, money that could have come in handy in roads construction, capitation in the education sector among others,?” wondered the former DP.
“During campaigns, we pledged to resolve the KSh900billion pending bills issue, but no effort has been made to resolve the issue. Indeed, some of the contractors owed have been auction, others died of depression while others have been silently suffering from hypertension and diabetes due to excess stress,” added the former government defender turned fiercest critic.
Gachagua advised the president to refrain from pitting communities against each other as Kenyans are keen on harmony and were only incited by politicians intent on achieving political bonga points wondering how an MP can utter words to the effect that all other communities would join hands and ensure that they suppress one community right under the nose of the Head of State without a reprimand or order to retract the inciteful statement.
He was referring to a statement made by Webuye West legislator Dan Wanyama who during Ruto’s Western Kenya visit a fortnight ago who uttered the offensive words as other leaders present including some from Mt Kenya region cheared him on, with the president neither reprimanding nor denouncing the remarks.
On the economy, Gachagua noted that contrary to the popular campaign pledges to Kenyan including the provision of business start-up and enhancement through The Hustler fund, Gachagua decried the meagre disbursements of KSh500-1000 that cannot be of any meaningful use other than consumption.
” One of the reasons I was termed a tribalist was meeting small scale importers who were sagging under the weight of high import duty that had risen from KSh2.9m per container to a whopping KSh4.4m that was threatening to push them out of business. Little did Ruto know that not all the traders came from my community and in any event they are major tax payers,” explained the former second in command.
Gachagua took a swipe at Laikipia East Member of Parliament Mwangi Kiunjuri who after the Genz uprising last year he claimed that over 30,000 youth from Mt Kenya region had been ferried to the capital city to cause chaos, wondering how anybody would manage such a scheme without the security system noticing.
“How could anyone manage to organise and ferry such crowds in a country with the NIS and the police not noticing and taking appropriate action,” wondered the now non official opposition spokesman.
He cautioned the president against the revival of proscribed groups who in the past terrorised peace loving citizens and whose actions could easily lead the nation into anarchy.
Gachagua also reiterated his allegation that president Ruto had offered colossal amounts of money to resign in a bid to let him have a free hand to run his one man show as no other member of government could face him and tell him he was wrong.
He disclosed that the political party that those affiliated to his ideologies will use in the next General Elections will be unveiled in May.
Since his impeachment, the former DP has been holding consultative meetings with more than 300 groups and individuals from different parts of the country.
The meetings that usually take place at his Wamunyoro Residence at the foot of mount Kenya are going to inform the best strategy that the former DP will apply to wrestle the political popularity of President Ruto.
Before hosting the media at the same place last evening, Gachagua hosted a group of leaders, mostly Members of Parliament who support him for a consultative meeting.
