Kisii ODM leaders under team Simba Arati have called upon security officers for high speed of investigation and accountability for those who disrupted yesterday incidence at Gusii stadium.
This is after the meeting ended prematurely after a device believed to be a teargas canister exploded shortly before the coalition’s presidential candidate running mate Martha Karua started addressing the gathering.
Karua and other leaders were whisked to safety during the stampede as members of the public scampered for safety during the incident which left several people including journalists injured and chairs were broken
Reading a joint statement Davins Onuso ODM aspirant Bobasi said that yesterday incidence was peaceful meeting and later disrupted by rowdy individuals.
Mr Onuso said that the public were peaceful and were ready to welcome the leaders and some individual disrupted the meeting.
According to him, Â it is in public domain the incumbent governor Ongwae was relaxed even after the tear gas was detonated to them that has raised eye brows.

Mr Onyonka said that the electorates are wise and they know whom they will vote for.
On his part Arati said that they do not have any competitors , it is only Ongwae who is behind the violences witnessed in the county and wants to divide the public.
Mr Arati asked Ongwae to retire peaceful and leave the new upcoming leaders to take over from him.
According to him, Ongwae is living in fear that he will be questioned over the misappropriation of funds he has used in the past 10 years .
Mr Arati said that his team they are in fear and asked for security officers for protection.
He urged the youths not to be used by politicians to cause chaos and ask the electorates to vote for him.
The leaders requested the security officers to take stern action to the culprits.
They asked incumbent governor James Ongwae not to engage in current politics sidelining to support UDA gubernatorial candidate Ezekiel Machogu.
On his part , Incumbent governor James Ongwae apologized to the public over the incidence and asked the security officers to investigate over the matter.
Mr Ongwae said that that the meeting had earlier planned it was meant purely for female but it was invaded by male who were incited by some politicians.
“We know those politicians who hired youths to disrupt meeting, this behaviour is uncalled for,” he said.
Mr Ongwae asked the politicians to conduct a peaceful campaigns and not inciting public.
He challenged electorates to make their right decision while voting for the leaders who will bring change in the country rather than those with ill motive of dividing public.
Team Simba Arati asked Ongwae to retire peacefully and stop dividing electorates.
The differences between Kisii gubernatorial candidate Simba Arati and incumbent Governor Ongwae it is in public domain regardless of them being in ODM party they are not working together.
Mr Arati has aligned his team senatorial candidate Richard Onyonka (ODM) and woman representative Donya Doris Aburi (Wiper) .
